1.Write a paragraph about an incident with an animal.The incident may have happened to you,or you may have seen it happen to someone else.As a way of starting list all the details of the incident and then put theme in time order.
My sister and i were going to clean our birds cage.The cage is really big and i can fit in it.My father made it so the birds had a lot of space. But now there are to many of birds in there and both of us were scared to get in.My sister said that i should go in since i was the skinner one.Next i opened the door and told my sister to watch out . I was scared that some might get out.When i was in there i didn't look up because in my head i kept things that the bird were going to attack me like the movie ''Birds''.After i was done cleaning the cage i handed my sister the broom and bucket full of bird crap.As i gave it to her she dropped it right at the door.So my sister and i tyred to pick it up as quickly as we could.While we were picking it up six birds flew out.Both of us looked at each other.We new that when our dad came home ,he was going to get us in trouble .Later that day we told him the truth ,he was very made at us.Once in a while my dad still reminds us of what happened to his birds.

Unit 2

5.Write a paragraph about a secret -yours or someone Else's -and how it was revealed.

It was a Friday morring and i was home alone.So since i had nothing to do i decided to dust the stuff that was in the living room.i started with my moms porcelain dolls that she had on a counter.I grabbed one of the dollsthe one she liked the best.I started to dust it then all of a sudden it fell and broke.It broke in to pieces,i quickly picked it up and glued it together.It did stick but you were able to see the lines were it had broken.My next plain was to put it behind the other dolls .So my mom wouldn't notice it.It worked out for about a 4 moths, until she decided to clean it when i was at school. When i came home from picking up my sister,my mother demanded the truth.I hesitated to tell her because i new she was going to be really made.My sister just stared at me she new that it was me.Then i told here that i accidental had drooped the doll when i was dusting it.My mother was mad,she still has the doll. when i see it i always remember.

1. In a paragraph,explain what Clark means when he says that,in America,the language seems to make him feel as if he is ''looking in a mirror where everything appears the same,except it's reveres.''Include incidents Clark describes when he discovers a word means something quit different from what he thought it did.

Clark thinks that words in America mean the same as in his home land.One day one of his neighbors Mr.Gabinsky greeted him by saying''Hey there,young boy,how is the family doing today?''Clark responded him.Later that day his other neighbor from up stars told him that he shouldn't let Mr.Gabinsk call him boy.Since boy or girl are words that were used to call African American during slavery.So the next time that he saw Mr.Gabinsky he confronted him.But Mr.Gabinsky too did not now that the word ''boy'' meant here in America.He was from Hungary,he too used the word ''boy'' to talk to younger adults.On another occasion Clark was looking for a ''shop''that sold milk.Since over in Jamaica shop is were they see milk.But here in America when you say shop it means you are going to buy clothes.If you were going to by milk you would have to go to a grocery store.Words can have double meaning to theme is all depends were you use it and were you are.

What do you like about your homwtown ?What things would you change?

Well the town that I've lived all my life is Gridley ,California .One of the things that i like about Gridley is that everyone knows each other.But it sucks when something bad happens everyone now about it though Gridley is a small town we still have fast food places and a two coffee shops.There are only a few things that i would chance .I would like that the Hispanic kids that lives there wouldn't get involved with the gangs.There isn't a lot of places for the teens to hang out after school .Another things is that hardly any people drive by the down town.The only time you see people is when its the red suspenders parade thats when every one is all over walking around.

A perfect weather day ,what would i do ?

A perfect weather day for me is when the sun is out.There would be no clouds or wind just the sun.The temperature would be 85 degrees.In the mooring that day i would be watering the garden and reading the newspaper and out seating in the porch.Now in the afternoon my sister and i would most likely take a long walk around the Chico state campus.My sister most likely be taking pictures of the flowers and birds that she spots while we walk.In the night time i would get up on the roof and look out and stare at the full moon.The temperature would be a little more colder at night.That would be my perfect day.

what kind of music do you like?

I like music a lot, i always have my mp3 with me or the radio on in my room.I usually lesson to Latin music since my first language is Spanish.In Latin culture reggeton is very popular with the young people it has a cache beet that makes you want to keep on dancing. Also i like durangense music since my family comes from the state of Durango ,Mexico.The durangense music is like country but fast beet any one can dance it . You have to dance it with a partner.It's really easy to dance it.It's just moving your hips to the sides and moving your feet back and forth.For that past five years that kind of dancing has grown threw out Every time a group that is durangense comes to the area of Chico , my friends and i go dance .We have a lot of fun.I once in a while listen to hip-hop but no usually.

What is the best way to study for finals?

Well there are many ways to study for finals everybody uses a different method.Here are a few suggestions. Study a least one week before the final.It gives you time to remember what you learned at the beginning of the semester.Also talk to your teacher and make him or her go over the material that will be on the test .Tell him or her what is hard for you to remember or don't understand . Get together with a few people from your class, form a study group.Sometimes it helps when students form a study group because they discover that other people have problems to.So just study for finals any way you want.

What are your summer plans?

This summer i think it will be like every other summer.My dads family comes from Mexico to visits us in July.It's very fun because i take my cousins out and show theme around the area.Also towards the end of summer i will take a trip to LA were my other cousins live.It is very fun because we go out and dance the hole night until three in the morning.I don't like any of the clubs here since in most of theme you have to be 21 and older.The last thing that i plan to do is learn how to drive stick shift .I have tried learning but can't seem to get the hang of it the truck always turns off on me.That's all i now I'm going to do i think.

my favorite memory from my childhood

My favorite memory that i remember is when i turned ten.My parents decided to combine my sisters birthday and mine the same day.Since most of the people that were coming would be family.The party was fun since we were all playing games and eating junk food.But when it was time for the cake i got a little nervous because i new that someone would try to push me in the cake.My older cousins were just waiting for my sister and i to blow the candles from the cake.My cousin Letty grabbed my sister lipa first and lightly pushed her face in her cake.Her face was covered and she was laughing .Now it was my turn, i told theme to push lightly but it was no us they shoved my face all the way to the bottom of the cake.When i lifted my face i could not breath from my nose since i had cake in side of it.Everyone was laughing even my aunts and uncles.I felt so bad that i went inside and locked my self in the bathroom and started to cry.My mom later came in the bathroom and helped me take what was left from the cake .Ever since that day i stopped having family party's i told my parents that i was to old to have kid party's.Now when it's my birthday i won't buy a big cake only a little one.I always remember that when it's my birthday.

if you could have any animal in the world for a pet,what would you have ? Why?

My favorite animal are pandas !!!!!!I love the way the animals look since they remind me a lot of teddy bears.When i was young my dad won me a big panda at a fair,I was so happy.After that i stared ed to collect little teddy bears that looked like pandas.I had at least 50 bears.But later as i got older i started to focus on other things and i lost interest in getting things that had panda on it.Now i would want to have a real one.Even though it would be hard since pandas are delicate creatures .Pandas only eat bamboo ,it takes a long time for its food to grow.So i would have to bring a lot of bamboo and grow a few.I would keep it in a big big place were it can play and people would still be able to see it.I also would charge a fee for those that are curious to see my exotic animal.Only i can get close to my animal.

What are you most afraid of ? What do you do to deal with this fear?

I am afraid of farm animals except horses !Every time i go to Mexico i go threw a lot of things.I hate it when my family members make me go feed the animals or go to the store.The town were my family lives is very small so a lot of the people let the pigs ,cows,goats walk around .I would always take the long way to the store.Over there the cows ,goats have Horne's.They are very big .Once when i was nine years old my grandma told me to go get one of the small goat's from the barn.Of course i was not going to tell her that i was scared so i stood out there for a few minutes.I finally went in there was about ten big ones and 4 little ones. When i would get near theme they would run the opposite way. I trapped one near a corner, i was holding it was screaming it was calling for his mother.Next the mom goat started to chase me.I had to get up in a old truck that was near the door.Luckily i was near the door so i jumped up a stare and shut the door really fast.I told my grandma that i was never going to do that again.Now when i go to Mexico i tell theme that i can feed theme as long as the animals are in a cage.i still take the long way to the store every time i go.I'm still afraid of animals!

Describe a time when you had to make a difficult decision.What did you do?How did you choose?

OK there was this one time when two of my friends were having a weeding that same day.They lived in different towns so they didn't now each other. Both of theme wanted me to be one of there bridesmaid .It was so hard ,i would have liked to be in both but the dresses were so expensive .I asked my mom for advice but she said it was all up to me ,she didn't want to get involved in this mess.i knew the girls since i was very young there parents were friends with my parents.It took me about a week to make up my decision. I picked Anna !.She has been there for me when ever i had a problem or just felt sad,mad at every thing that is around me.When i told her ,she was so happy . She said i had made the right choice.But when i had to tell Lola ,she took it well and was not made at me.The only thing she made me promise her was that i would go to church and take a picture with her.The party was great and it was fun.

If you had time to volunter,where would you volunteer? what would you do? why(if you do volunteer,describe what you do!)

Well I've volunteered a lot when i was in high school ,some times it was fun because my friends were there .Since I've been in college i haven't had time to volunteer.Now that i get to choose,I think i would probably volunteer in a day care.Since i have always been around kids all may life.I like to be around little kids i think all kids are cute when there small.When i am around kids they always make me smile or laugh.I think i would be in charge of play time.Volunteering were kids are would help me out a lot.Since i plan to be a preschool teacher .It would help me get experience with children.Who knows i might be able to work were i have volunteered.

if you were stranded on a island what three things would you bring?

If i was stranded at a island and they said i can only take 3 things that would be supper hard.
The first thing i would bring with me is my cellphone .It would help me stay in touch with my family since they can't be with me.My phone would have Internet access and instance message.Also it would run on solar energy so it would have to be out in the sun for a long time.Another feature is that it can't be broken.Second i would bring with me a gun in case of an emergence .In case a puma or big animal would try to come near me i would scare it off or kill it .Also to scare other people that might want to take my stuff.My last choice would be to bring with me is a inflatable bed.I can use it in two ways,1st use it to sleep,second it could be used as a bout to go out and catch fish near the cost.I think all those things would help me to survive for a long time .

what is your definition of love?

Love can be shown or felt in different ways, it depends on how u feel about it.When you are a litter kid you think being in love is grouse but as you get older you have feelings towards other people.My definition of love is that when you are around that person you fell safe and have fun with him or her.

If you could invite 3 famous people to dinner ,who would you invite? what would you discuss?What would you eat?

My top three choices would be ; Ricky martin, Cheyenne, Montez De Durango.All of theme are singers that i love.We would meet at Casa Lupe and eat there .Tres Amigos is a Mexican restaurant that i love.First of all we would talk about each others family and how they were doing .Second i would ask each one of theme what were there next plans in there career in the music industry. Third we would talk about our child hood experiences and the crazy things we did.The last thing that i would like to do with theme is take theme dancing.Since that restaurant has a club inside the restaurant.

Describe a memorable teacher you have had .What special about him/her?

My most memorable teacher i would have two say was Ms.L .I had her in second & third grade.She was a very nice teacher even if once in a while she would get made at my friends and I.I remember the time i knocked over the cage with the hamster and she didn't get made at me.i was so scared that day,i even cryed.Ms.L had a lot of stuff like;pillows,a carpet,couch and 2 small blankets. Every day after lunch it was story time ,she would read us a story.My classmates and i would fight over who was going to site in the couch it was fun.But there was some hard times for me.I have always struggled with speaking with other people that i don't now.So when it was group time she would put me with people she new i have never talk to.She would tell me that until i spoke with other people in discussion she was not going to let me be in a group with my friends.The first time i did that i was so nervous because i new who the kids were but never talked to theme only like can i borrow a pencil . Ms.L knew that i hated it but in the end it turned out to be the best for me.She also made me read out loud that also helped me become a better reader.She never gave up on me even if i did sometimes .She always made me smile even if i was having a bad day. I will always remember her.

What makes you happy?

Two of the things that makes me happy is eating it or baking it. People see food everyday some can have it others choose not to it's just the way of life.Everyday i have to eat something if i don't I'll get in a bad mood.In my classes i usually am eating except when the teacher tells me that i have to put it away.Most of my money i spend it on food or shoes .i also like to make cakes it lets me use my imagination when it comes to the decorating part .No matter what i do i have to involve food.Also it helps me make money because once in a while my friends pay me to bake a cake or make food.When my friends have tyred to bake or cook some how it burns or they forgot to add something. So i bake it for theme .I am so thankful for my mom because she showed us how to bake cookies,cakes,and breads.In my house there is always something good to eat but lately i have cut back because my mother and sister are in a diet.So now we bake once in a while or when we do bake i usually give some of it to my friends or the neighbor .
